BiographyJudith Bliss is Professor of Clinical Trials at The Institute of Cancer Research, London and Director of its Cancer Research UK funded Clinical Trials & Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU). A trials statistician with over 30 years’ experience, her professional interests are in the design and analysis of cancer clinical trials; driven by a desire that trials are efficient and sufficiently robust to provide the safety and efficacy results required to directly influence routine clinical practice internationally. She is a member of the UK NCRI Breast CSG where PPI representatives are partners in trial development. Focus for contemporary trial activity is on establishing evidence for biologically targeted therapies utilising biologically defined intermediate endpoints to drive therapeutic choices and predict outcomes. She collaborates with key clinical and scientific opinion leaders and pharmaceutical company partners as required. She is working with NCRAS to overcome the challenges of integrating routinely collected data in ongoing trials.
