BiographyPhilip Bath is Stroke Association Professor of Stroke Medicine, and Head of the Division of Clinical Neuroscience, at the University of Nottingham, UK. He is a consultant caring for patients with stroke and high blood pressure at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He directs the ESH Hypertension Excellence Centre and NIHR Hyperacute Stroke Research Centre in Nottingham. Prof. Bath’s researches into the causes and treatment of high blood pressure and increased blood clotting in patients with acute stroke, and afterwards for prevention. He has/is Coordinating (Chief Investigator) of large multicentre trials (TAIST, MRC ENOS, BHF/HTA TARDIS, AS/SA PODCAST, STEPS and BHF RIGHT-2) which aim to improve outcomes.
