BiographyJonathan Mant is Professor of Primary Care research and Head of the Primary Care Unit in the Department of Public Health & Primary Care at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on prevention of stroke and support for people with stroke in primary care. The former includes screening for and treatment of atrial fibrillation, and different approaches to managing high blood pressure, including self-management. His current programmes are investigating the role of a polypill in secondary prevention of stroke, developing a primary care model for stroke care and a managing life after stroke programme for stroke survivors. He has chaired a number of guideline development groups for NICE, most recently for heart failure.
