BiographyEmily Simonoff is Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, where she is also head of the Department. She studied Psychology and Social Relations and then Medicine at Harvard University. After qualifying she trained at the Maudsley Hospital. Following a Wellcome Training Fellowship, she joined the MRC Child Psychiatry Unit where became a Senior Scientist. She was appointed Professor at Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital Medical school in 1998 and at the Institute of Psychiatry in 2002. Emily is academic lead for the Child Mental Disorders Clinical Academic Group in King’s Health Partners, the academic health sciences centre for King’s College London. Emily’s clinical and research interests focus on the interface among neurodevelopmental disorders, especially autism, ADHD and intellectual disability. Her research is cited in 4 NICE guidelines. Emily is the Coordinator of the European ADHD Guidelines Group.
