BiographyFrank Nestle is currently Mary Dunhill Chair of Cutaneous Medicine and Immunotherapy at King's College London and Guy's Hospital.  His research has contributed to the improvement of health care outcomes of psoriasis, one of the most common chronic inflammatory disorders and one of the most common dermatological disorders in the UK affecting about one million people. For over 15 years, Professor Nestle's research has investigated the cause of psoriasis, defined novel drug targets and already moved novel targeted biological therapies into everyday clinical practice. Another major skin disease is melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer and one of the fastest rising cancers in the UK. Frank Nestle's research into the immunobiology of melanoma has resulted in a better understanding of the relationship between the immune system and melanoma especially the role of dendritic cells in the activation of a melanoma-specific immune response.
