BiographyNeil Marlow is a clinical professor of newborn medicine at University College London. All of his research activity relates to the care of newborn infants and their subsequent development. His primary investigative research is aimed at understanding the consequences of premature birth and of adverse clinical events that occur around the time of birth. Professor Marlow is also involved in a wide range of clinical trials of treatments either in the period before birth (for example to prevent premature birth) or in the newborn period. Uniquely, most of these studies are based on long term outcomes for the child rather than short term improvements in clinical measures made during the neonatal period. His ultimate goal is to seek strategies and interventions to prevent the long term consequences of prematurity. Link to profile at the Institute for Women’s Health, UCL, London Link to web page
