BiographyMartin Rossor is Professor of Clinical Neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, London, where he is Chairman of the Division of Neurology; he is also honorary consultant neurologist at St Mary’s Hospital. Graduating from Jesus College, Cambridge and King's College Hospital Medical School, London, he trained in Neurology at the National Hospital and undertook research into the neurochemistry of degenerative disease at the MRC neurochemical pharmacology unit in Cambridge. Professor Rossor directs the Dementia Research Centre at the Institute of Neurology.  He established a specialist cognitive disorders clinic which acts as a tertiary referral service for young onset and rare dementias.  Clinical research interests are in neurodegenerative disease and particularly in familial disease. He is editor of the Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry and was recently appointed Director of the Department of Health Clinical Research Network for Dementias and Neurodegenerative Diseases (DeNDRoN); he also holds positions on a number of academic committees and editorial boards as well as memberships of various learned societies.
