BiographyNicky Cullum is Professor of Nursing and Head of the Division of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work in the School of Health Sciences at the University of Manchester. Originally trained as a nurse in Liverpool, she gained a PhD in pharmacology in 1990.  Most of Nicky's research is focused in wound care. She has been involved, as Chief Investigator or Co-Investigator, in several multicentre trials of wound related interventions including VenUS I, II, III and IV trials of venous leg ulcer interventions and PRESSURE all funded by the NIHR Health Technology Assessment Programme. Nicky also led a five year programme of wounds research funded by NIHR Programme Grants for Applied Research and was co-investigator on another. Nicky is Coordinating Editor of Cochrane Wounds; a collaboration that has published more than 100 systematic reviews to date. She also co-founded the journal Evidence Based Nursing and founded the world's first Centre for Evidence Based Nursing. She is currently Wounds Programme lead in the NIHR-funded CLAHRC-GM and co-lead of the Wound Healing programme in the Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (also NIHR funded).
