BiographyJohn Bradley is Director of the comprehensive NIHR Biomedical Research Centre in Cambridge, Director of Research and Development and Consultant Renal Physician at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Bradley graduated from the University of Nottingham, and held research fellowships in the Vascular Research Division at Harvard Medical School and the Molecular Cardiobiology Programme at Yale University. Following this he was awarded a Senior Research Fellowship by Kidney Research UK (KRUK) to establish a research programme in Cambridge. Dr Bradley’s research encompasses cardiovascular aspects of renal disease, with a focus on the role of the inflammatory mediator, TNF, in cardiovascular disease and the vascular changes that accompany transplant rejection.Dr Bradley chairs a number of national research programmes, including KRUK’s ABLE programme (A Better Life through Education and Empowerment), which encompasses a series of projects aimed at the early detection and prevention of renal disease in ethnic minorities and the Quality Improvement in Chronic Kidney Disease programme funded by the Health Foundation.
