BiographyMatthew Lambon Ralph is Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and Director, Neuroscience and Aphasia Research Unit, School of Psychological Sciences, at the University of Manchester.  Research is focused upon the language, comprehension, memory and cognitive problems that many different types of patients have after neurological damage, which can be very disabling. These include many patients who have language problems after stroke and different types of dementia. Such issues are tackled through interdisciplinary basic and clinical research. Targets are set to improve understanding and assessment of these types of language problem, measure how they change over time, define and test brand new methods for intervention by speech and language therapists and other health professionals; findings are then disseminated to help train health professionals.  Link to profile at the University of Manchester.
